History
Pupils will re-examine our perceptions of World War I using a variety of sources including writings, pictures and video.
Why is it that we think only of the mud and the misery when there are so many other sides to this complex historical period?
Pupils will:
- Create at a short film about an aspect of World War I they feel is neglected (e.g: leisure time, women, imperial troops, humour)
- Examine and use sources
- Understand that complex historical periods need to be seen from different angles.
Students tire of interpreting and responding to written text in the same ways. They want new fun ways to think about History and new ways to represent it.The elements of comic writing challenges students to develop clear points, realistic dialogues, and meaningful visual representations.Students will be able to take their own photos and import them to create a historical narrative.
