Modern Foreign Languages
MFL prepares pupils to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are often carried out in languages other than English. The rise of international commerce means that pupils need to be equipped with the skills needed by the international workplace.
The aim of this session is to help increase children’s linguistic competence and promote positive attitudes towards language learning through a range of learning activities.
Animation
Creative educators are constantly looking for new ways to
engage and inspire pupils through multimedia, as well as new
ways to present information to students who are becoming
increasingly digitally literate. Stop motion animation offers a
simple yet effective solution.
Web design
In this session, pupils create a simple website which is functional and attractive. Pupils are asked to consider the purpose and audience of the website and to design their own appropriately.
Lego Robolab
LEGO MINDSTORMS Education NXT is the next generation in educational robotics, enabling students to discover Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in a fun, engaging, and hands-on way.
Pupils will:
- Program robots to move, play sounds, display images.
- Use sensors to demonstrate knowledge of input and output
- Complete a given scenario
The Comic Club
Students tire of interpreting and responding to written text in the same ways. They want new fun ways to think about literature and new ways to represent it.The elements of comic writing challenges students to develop clear plots, realistic dialogues, and meaningful visual representations.The skills learned here can later be transferred to other forms of narrative writing.
