Science
This is a dynamic and challenging session which requires teamwork and sound scientific skills.
On the 4th December 2006 the state of New York banned the use of trans fats in food products. Trans fats are believed to be harmful because they contribute to heart disease by raising bad cholesterol and lowering good cholesterol at the same time. Some experts say that makes trans fats worse than saturated fats. Trans fat is used for frying and baking and turns up in processed foods like cookies, pizza dough and crackers. Trans fats, which are favoured because of their long shelf life, are also found in pre-made blends like pancake and hot chocolate mix.
In this session, pupils create a Space Station that is practical and scientifically sound. Pupils will then create a short presentation with pictures of their Space Station where they will describe the different MODULES and the different stages.
In this short session (up to 2 hours) pupils are introduced to the software Audacity and are tasked with creating a short radio programme. Pupils record a script, add jingles and sound effects and background music.
Some science concepts can be difficult to explain - and even harder to illustrate practically in-class.
But by using real-time simulation, krucible's virtual laboratories bring physics to life.
